St. Louis Symphony: Live at the Pulitzer – Don’t Say a word

May 18, 7:30 pm | Pulitzer Arts Foundation | $23

Recognized for its exceptional, adventurous programming, St. Louis Symphony: Live at the Pulitzer series explores the intersection of contemporary music, art, and architecture. Founded in 2004, the series is curated in partnership with SLSO Creative Partner Tim Munro and presents chamber music by composers from the 20th and 21st centuries in the intimate atmosphere of the Pulitzer Arts Foundation gallery. Live at the Pulitzer furthers the ongoing commitment of the SLSO and Music Director Stéphane Denève to music of our time.

We dare to provoke. Composer and avant-folk vocalist Annika Socolofsky is a rising force in the musical world. Don’t say a word is her collection of “feminist rager-lullabies,” songs that update old lullabies, teaching radical new lessons. The cycle, performed by Socolofsky with a virtuoso ensemble from the SLSO, is beautiful, passionate, and filled with rage.
