St. Louis Symphony: Live at the Pulitzer – Second Nature
Recognized for its exceptional, adventurous programming, St. Louis Symphony: Live at the Pulitzer series explores the intersection of contemporary music, art, and architecture. Founded in 2004, the series is curated in partnership with SLSO Creative Partner Tim Munro and presents chamber music by composers from the 20th and 21st centuries in the intimate atmosphere of the Pulitzer Arts Foundation gallery. Live at the Pulitzer furthers the ongoing commitment of the SLSO and Music Director Stéphane Denève to music of our time.
We dare to journey again. Christopher Stark’s 2nd Nature uses violin, electronics, and video to venture deep into the natural world. Two string quartets by Yotam Haber offer musical responses: to an ancient Jewish melody in From the Book, and to South Africa’s rap-rave scene in?break_break_break. L.J. White weaves a gentle tapestry from violin and electronics, while Carolina Heredia explores our conflicted feelings about home.
