MOZART Concerto for Flute and Harp, K 299
R. STRAUSS Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme Suite

SLSO Principals Mark Sparks and Allegra Lilly join together to perform Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto, a melodic work full of light-hearted wonder.

  • This program keeps it all in the SLSO family with Resident Conductor Gemma New taking the baton to lead the orchestra along with SLSO Principal Flute Mark Sparks and Principal Harpist Allegra Lilly in Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto.
  • This is the only one of Mozart’s compositions that features the harp and is one of only two true double concertos by the composer.
  • In Les Bourgeois Gentilhomme Suite, Strauss uses the sounds of a Baroque ensemble as a basis and transforms it with rich textures and a full symphonic sound.
