Conductor Laureate Leonard Slatkin returns to Powell Hall with a program steeped in Spain and the Spanish language. Chabrier’s España sways with delight. Joshua Roman’s cello plays the famous knight in Strauss’ Don Quixote, and SLSO Principal Viola Beth Guterman Chu plays his trusted sidekick. Mason Bates creates a “psychedelic Carnival of the Animals” based on an Argentinian story collection.

 

Avoid traffic and parking, and hop aboard the Symphony shuttle to enjoy a ride to Powell Hall. Shuttle tickets are $15 per passenger per concert.
