No matter your age, interests or budget, you’ll find something fun to do in St. Louis this weekend.
Experience the rich musical tapestry of the Americas, where sounds from across the globe converge to create vibrant and distinctive regional styles. This program features works by Miguel del Águila, Agustín Lara, Florence Price, and others—celebrating the diverse cultural voices of North, Central, and South America.
A highlight of the evening is the World Premiere of Chacona in Flux by St. Louis–based composer Darwin Aquino, part of Chamber Project St. Louis’ annual Commissioning Project. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Aquino’s music reflects his international journey, weaving together tradition and innovation.
For the first time, Florence Price’s rhapsodic Piano Quintet in A minor will be performed, a masterpiece that combines sweeping lyricism with bold energy. Adding sparkle to the program are Latin-inspired works for clarinet and piano and a dazzling reimagining of Agustín Lara’s classic song Se Me Hizo Fácil arranged by Osvaldo Golijov.
