The Passover Project: a Musical Seder

April 8 @ 7:30 pm
City Winery | $36 – $72

City Winery St. Louis and The STL Jewish Light presents The Passover Project live on April 8th at 7:30pm!

In early 2024, St. Louis Jewish Light Editor-in-Chief Ellen Futterman enlisted Brothers Lazaroff and Rabbi James Stone Goodman to help produce a music-filled alternative seder. Rooted in examples from creative communities around the country, Ellen aimed to create an experiential Passover seder that brought the community together, highlighting St. Louis' abundant talent. Attendees will enjoy a family-friendly, yet grown-up seder featuring music, poetry, grooves, and hidden mystical teachings woven throughout.

Rabbi James Stone Goodman, also a writer and musician, plays guitar, oud, percussion, and other Middle Eastern instruments. He records music, story, and poetry in collaborative formats, integrating literary forms into performance art musical pieces. In his role as a rabbi in St. Louis, he specializes in Kabbalah and works in addictions, incarceration, and mental health.

Brothers David and Jeff Lazaroff lead Brothers Lazaroff, a St. Louis-based songwriting and producing team. Their ensemble, ranging from six to fifteen members, effortlessly blends genres around rooted songwriting. They've released numerous albums, EPs, and live recordings, fostering a community of multidisciplinary artists through their songs and events.
