To See This Place: Awakening to Our Common Home

December 3 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
|Recurring Event (See all)

To See This Place is inspired by and responds to the late Pope Francis’s 2015 encyclical Laudato Si’. Francis proposed an “integral ecology” that links our care for creation with our care for the most vulnerable among us, and challenges us to bring the full spectrum of our humanity to bear on addressing the climate crisis.

Resonating with the insights of Laudato Si', the work of artists Athena LaTocha, Mary Mattingly, and Tyler Rai offer clear-eyed encouragement grounded in the inherent beauty and dignity of the world and all the manifold life that inhabits it. By awakening us to the particularities and interconnectedness of the spaces we inhabit, these artists help transform climate despair into climate hope and move us from awareness to action.

Museum hours are Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun 11a–4p and Thurs 11a–7p
