Along with crisp autumn air, dozens of festivals, special events and theatrical entertainment spectaculars blow into St. Louis during September, October and November.

Sample the tastiest food St. Louis has to offer at 2013 Taste of St. Louis, September 27-29. 45 local restaurants offer sample-sized portions of their delicious menu items for purchase, and the options are diverse. The annual festival features headlining acts from Pokey LaFarge, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, and The Dusty 45s. Food lovers will also enjoy an culinary competition between St. Louis chefs, a juried art show, wine tastings, a children’s area and more!

Art lovers flock to the Shaw Neighborhood on Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 6, where you can bounce between two adjacent art-filled events. The 22nd Annual Best of Missouri Market brings together more than 120 Missouri food producers and craftsmen offering everything from homegrown produce and flowers to handmade jewelry, baskets and woven goods. The popular event is held at the Missouri Botanical Garden. Simultaneously, just east of the Garden in the parkway along Flora Place, the Annual Historic Shaw Art Fair unfolds multi-media works created by quality, national artists.

St. Louis celebrates its German heritage with Oktoberfest. The Soulard Oktoberfest is one of the fastest growing celebrations in the country. Festivalgoers will find plenty of beer, food and music plus activities for kids.

The Fall theatre season is in full swing in St. Louis. The Fabulous Fox Theatre presents the Time Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award-winning musical EVITA October 8-20. Next, Sister Act brings comedy smash and ridiculously fun to The Fox from November 19 through December 1. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis opened on September 11 with Joe Masteroff, Cabaret telling the story of a young innocent American writer who journesy to Berlin during the 1930s. The classic, award-winning musical runs through October 6th. The inspiring story about four courageous young African American pilots as they train for aircraft combat during World War II, Fly, swoops across The Rep’s stage from October 16 through November 10.
