Meanwhile … outside that festival …
Monday, January 13 – BB’s Jazz Blues & Soups is having Jesse Ganno on its stage. This blues pianist is definitely worth catching. 8 pm, $10.
Wednesday, January 15 – Seriously get to the Pageant to see the return of Greensky Bluegrass. This is a high-energy alt bluegrass/alt country group that is totally more fun than should be legally allowed. Town Mountain is also on the bill. Doors open at 7, $27.50.
What the Locals Know: Wander into O’Connell’s Pub on any given Sunday early afternoon, and you’ll hear some great live Irish music. Sometimes it’s a harpist, sometimes a guitarist, but it’s always a good time and there’s never a cover for it.
Music Note of Note: Are you a member of the St. Louis Jazz Club? Well, what are you waiting for? This organization works to preserve, support and encourage traditional jazz in our city. They put on special concerts a couple of times of month putting the spotlight on the best local jazzers we have.
Guest blogger Kevin Mitchel highlights some of St. Louis’ top local music events each week.
