Our town has recently been named 22nd out of 100 on a list of “most active cities,” so let’s actively get out and hear some good live music with these Bands of Note:

Saturday, June 29 – It’s rare that there’s a show at this special listening room on any night but Thursday, so sit up and pay attention: Marcel Strong and the Apostles perform at Joe’s Café. It promises to be an amazing event. Now familiarize yourself with the rules – BYOB, and food, etc. See the FB page. 8 pm, $10.
What the Locals Know – Our oasis of art and greenery in the heart of downtown, Citygarden, hosts a summer lunchtime concert series that will brighten your Wednesday. 11:45, free.
Music Note of Note: According to Distilled History, a local blog, in 1875 the St. Louis city directory listed a staggering 1,095 saloons. Not quite that many today but seek out those that serve up live music.
