Spotlight STL: Celebrating Historic Moments in 2026-27

Join Us in Showcasing St. Louis During These Historic Celebrations!

As part of Explore St. Louis' ongoing efforts to boost visitation and deepen our connection with the community, we’re launching a region-wide initiative to capitalize on a series of extraordinary anniversaries happening in 2026 and 2027.

In 2026, Route 66 will mark its centennial, America250 will commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence and the FIFA World Cup – taking place just down the road in Kansas City – will generate international attention and directly impact visitation to our region. Then, in 2027, the Gateway Arch will celebrate the 60th anniversary of its iconic trams opening to the public, and we’ll recognize the centennial of Charles Lindbergh’s groundbreaking transatlantic flight.

These landmark moments offer an incredible opportunity to generate revenue and media attention for St. Louis—and we need your help!

If you have events planned that tie into any of these anniversaries, please share the details using this form. We’re gathering as much information as possible about happenings in and around St. Louis so we can amplify these efforts. If you don’t have plans yet but would like to explore ideas for activations tied to these milestones, we’d love to brainstorm with you.

Let’s work together to make the most of these once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for St. Louis!
