America’s Center Wins Stella Award for Best Midwest Convention Center

ST. LOUIS – Explore St. Louis is ecstatic to announce that America’s Center has been named the best convention center in the Midwest by Northstar Meetings Group, as part of The Stella Awards, which honor organizations “that consistently deliver superlative service and innovation across all sectors of the meetings and events industry.”

“America’s Center is a significant economic generator for St. Louis and this award confirms that our efforts to update and innovate at the convention center are an important strategic investment in bringing even more people to the region,” said Kathleen “Kitty” Ratcliffe, president of Explore St. Louis.

The Stella Awards recognize hotels, convention centers, conference centers, airlines and cruise lines that consistently deliver the highest level of service and experience to meeting and event professionals. Winners are selected for achieving overall excellence, superb food and beverage, professionalism of staff, sustainability initiatives and other critical aspects of the meetings and event experience.

This award comes in the midst of the America’s Center exciting expansion project known as AC Next Gen. The much-awaited expansion and “facelift” for the America’s Center Convention Complex, last updated in 1995, includes a 72,000 square foot exhibit space with natural lighting and a new entrance at Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and 9th Steet; more than twice the number of loading docks for access to the exhibit space; a food farm; and additional amenities that reflect today’s priorities.
