Wireless networking is better than ever at America's Center® as the center supports 802.11b/g and 802.11a WiFi spectrums. In addition, a BlueSecurityTM 5100 Controller from Bluesocket, Inc., a leader in open wireless security and management, provides wireless data and voice services and WLAN management and security. This system will support up to 4,000 concurrent users throughout the facility.

Currently, there are 28 secure wireless access points in the 1.7 million square foot facility, including: the Washington Avenue lobby; main floor Gallery; Plaza Lobby; second floor atrium; the walkway from south to north meeting rooms on the second floor; America's Ballroom pre-function area; The Dome's main and auxiliary press boxes and the Dome floor. Wireless communications services are also available in Exhibit Halls 1 through 5.

Because America's Center is designed to accommodate multiple, simultaneous events, the wireless system also can be custom set with different security levels for specific access points and client needs. This means that free access or password-secured access can be set for select areas in the facility. The wireless system is free to visitors and guests of America's Center.

The America's Center convention complex features 502,000 square feet of contiguous exhibition space in six halls; 80 meeting rooms; the 1,400-seat Ferrara Theatre; the St. Louis Executive Conference Center; and the 67,000-seat Dome.

During 2010, the facility plans to provide wireless services in the "100" series Washington rooms, and expansion of the Plaza Lobby wireless service area to reach the Convention Plaza entry area.

For detailed information on the wireless system and America's Center's extensive telecommunications programs, contact Jack Canavera, telecommunications manager at jcanavera@americascenter.org.
