Soon a new 1,200 sq. ft. mural that celebrates 66 Reasons to Love St. Louis will be completed. The mural is a gift to the city from Phillips 66 and will be located on the western-facing wall of KDHX at 3524 Washington Ave., St. Louis. After 20 artists auditioned, local father/daughter artists, Robert and Liza Fishbone were selected to design it. The list of the 66 Reasons to Love St. Louis list was unveiled on Sept. 1 featuring the places, businesses, locales, and history that fill St. Louisans with pride. Phillips 66 along with Alive, KDHX, Next STL, St. Louis City Talk and Grand Center collaborated to create the list. These 66 reasons encourage St. Louisans to get out, admire and explore St. Louis. Do you think you could guess all 66 reasons? The 66 reasons include everything from Fashion on Washington to the Boys of Summer (Cardinals Baseball). For the full 66 reasons, check out the mural, www.66reasonsstl.com, and the following events.

Two parties that are free and open to the public are planned for people to celebrate the dedication of the mural, engage with one another and offer chances to win prizes. View the mural on Friday Sept. 11 from 5-8pm at the “Music @ The Intersection” free concert and listen to the sounds of musical artist Jay Farrar. At the Ballpark Village Block Party on Saturday Sept. 26 from 3-6pm, you can enjoy live music from John Hardy and take pride in the hidden gems of St. Louis. Sept. 1 also marks the beginning of the contest that everyone wants to win because you have the chance to win 66 months of free gas. From Sept. 1- Nov. 30, tour one of the 66 Reasons, take a photo and post it with “#STL66” and “#Contest.”
