Not too big and not too small, The Hawthorn might be just right for your next event.

Located in the up-and-coming Downtown West neighborhood of St. Louis, the open-concept space is versatile, with more than 10,000 square feet, two full-service bars and rich character. The professional and personable staff will take care of your every need while the in-house concert-style production will ensure your entertainment looks and sounds incredible.

The new venue also hosts high-energy concerts, memorable fashion shows and family-friendly events – something for everyone.

Here, Jeremy Hicks, marketing and communications director of The Hawthorn, shares more about its place in St. Louis’ ecosystem of event venues.

There are a plethora of concert and event venues in St. Louis. What makes The Hawthorn unique?

We don’t want to compete with the other St. Louis venues; we want to complement them. The Hawthorn is well-suited for events, and I think that it fills a gap in the market. In the St. Louis area, there are a lot of boutique event spaces and there are a lot of large event spaces, and The Hawthorn fits in the middle of those. The Hawthorn has enough space for most events, but it still feels intimate, and it has a lot of character. That’s how it differentiates itself.

How do you describe the vibe of The Hawthorn?

We often describe it as dark and moody, but it depends on the event. It’s a repurposed industrial space with a chic vintage feel, and its versatility makes every event magical. You have to see it and experience it to really understand it, though.

What can visitors expect from a night at The Hawthorn?

We host a wide range of concerts and events, so it depends on what night you come. Overall, visitors will always have a unique live experience.

What upcoming events are you most looking forward to?

I’m already feeling the holiday spirit, so I’m excited for the Donuts with Santa event presented by St. Louis Moms [on Dec. 3]. It’s going to be a great, family-friendly event for residents and visitors alike. In terms of concerts, Noah Thompson and HunterGirl will be fun. They’re the winner and runner-up of season 20 of American Idol, and they’re performing at The Hawthorn on Dec. 2. Off White [a St. Louis-based wedding planner] is also hosting its Wedding Show here [on March 5], where couples can connect with local wedding professionals to plan their big day.

Whether you’re planning your own event or looking for something fun to do in St. Louis this weekend, The Hawthorn is quickly becoming one of the best places in town to make lasting memories.
