Happy Friday! It’s time for a fun-filled weekend in St. Louis. If you are still pulling your plans together, here are a few suggestions to help make this a memorable weekend.
Central West End 5th Annual Window Walk – Saturday, December 6
Enjoy family friendly festivities, stroll amidst beautifully decorated windows, revel in live entertainment and discover special promotions throughout the District. Entertainment includes carolers, horse-drawn carriages, ice sculpting, live holiday music, Bob Kramer’s Marionettes, Fire Juggling and other street performers, free kettle corn and make your own s’mores stations. A Tree lighting Ceremony takes place at 6:00 p.m. at Maryland Plaza.
13th Annual Maplewood Christmas Tree Walk – Friday, December 5
Take a carriage ride through downtown Maplewood and sip hot chocolate as you enjoy the holiday lights. The grand tree lighting will take place, along with live entertainment and discounts on shopping.
39th Annual Soulard Holiday Parlour Tour – Saturday, December 6 – Sunday, December 7
Come to Soulard and experience “Living With History!” The event will feature tours of several unique homes, a holiday bazaar, food, music and much more. Soulard features beautifully restored 19th-century red brick Victorian homes and Federal-style townhouses dating from the mid- to late-1800s. Heated shuttles will take guests from home to home where they will get to meet homeowners and hear interesting facts and stories about their restoration efforts. The event begins with festivities at Gene Slay’s Boys’ Club of St. Louis, at 2524 S. 11th Street. This year in celebration of the 250th anniversary of St. Louis, Soulard will also be celebrating their 250th house on the tour. The exact house will be a surprise until you tour it. Enjoy all its glory and a piece of cake on your way out! Advance reservations are encouraged for a preferred tour time slot.
Christmas Cookie Spree on Cherokee Antique Row – Saturday, December 6 – Sunday, December 7
Browse through antique and collectible stores on historic Cherokee Street as merchants serve Christmas cookies. Entertainment and other festivities will also take place.
Christmas Candlelight Tour – Friday, December 5 – Saturday, December 6
Step back in time to the year 1819. View the Boone Home and the village decorated and lit with thousands of candles to create a one of a kind atmosphere full of holiday cheer and good tide. As visitors make their way through the candlelit village, they will see the traditions of different cultures and see how the special holiday was celebrated on the frontier. Artisans, musicians, and town folk populate the village singing carols and playing favorite Christmas tunes. Hot apple cider and cookies will be served to all guests. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the first tour starting at 6:00 p.m. Reservations are recommended, but not required.
