St. Patrick’s Day: Downtown – March 15
The streets of downtown St. Louis will become a sea of green as thousands of visitors attend the annual St. Patricks Day Parade. The parade kicks off with tons of elaborate floats, marching bands and larger-than-life helium balloons. The festivities begin at noon at 18th and Market streets near St. Louis Union Station and end at Broadway and Market Streets. Grab a piece of sidewalk anywhere along the route to see the sights and take par in one of the happiest days of the year with some of your closest friends. Before or after the parade, stop by the Hilton Irish Village in Kiener Plaza for food, shopping and live music from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more info: www.irishparade.org
Mideast Qualifier – March 13 – 16
Get your volley on as thousands of junior volleyballers descend on the America’s Center March 13-16 for the 2014 Mid-East Qualifier. The tournament features the nation’s best girl’s teams and clubs, attracting thousands of spectators every year.
Circus Saturday – March 15
Come one, come all! For one day only, Museum visitors can experience the magic of Circus Flora when several of their performers move beyond the Big Top to appear at The Magic House. Enjoy a sneak peek of a few of the amazing artists and acts from Circus Flora’s all-new production, “The Pawn.” Witness remarkable feats of daring, skill and humor at this spectacular event for the whole family.
March Morpho Mania – March 14 – 31
This weekend and throughout the month of March, enjoy the beauty of a rainforest without ever leaving St. Louis and see the largest collection of Blue Morpho butterflies in the United States as nearly 3,000 free-flying Blue Morphos fill their tropical conservatory. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the critical role butterflies play in nature, and how the Butterfly House is involved with butterfly conservation efforts in Costa Rica.
St. Louis Symphony Live at Powell Hall Concert: Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II – March 15 – 16
eh, what’s up, doc? See the beloved bunny like never before at the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra performance of classic “Looney Tunes” music, along with the premiere of three new 3D animated shorts and a 1940s Mel Blanc song never before animated. Visitors will even have an opportunity to have their photos taken with Bugs Bunny himself.
