It’s hard to believe that Labor Day weekend is nearly here. But before the summer season winds down, a ton of events fill the St. Louis area for one last hurrah.

Big Muddy Blues Festival Get in touch with St. Louis’ musical roots this Labor Day as thousands come to Laclede’s Landing for one of the best blues celebrations in the country. More than 16 bands will be performing on two stages throughout the 2-day event, with headliners Rick Estrin & The Nightcats on Saturday and Carolyn Wonderland on Sunday.

St. Nicholas Greek Festival
Visit the St. Nicholas Greek Festival for traditional food like gyros, moussaka, spanakopita and baklava, as well as Greek folk dancing, church tours and more.

Fall Art Fair at Queeny Park
With more than 140 juried artists from 20+ states, the Art Fair at Queeny Park is known for its top-notch visual art displays, for accessibility to visitors and for events like raffle drawings, giveaways and children’s activities. Friday and Saturday evenings also provide wine tasting events. If you go, expect to see paintings, photographs, woodwork, jewelry, glass art, ceramics, metalwork, multimedia art and much more.

38th Annual Japanese Festival
For the 38th year in a row, the Missouri Botanical Garden hosts its highly anticipated Japanese Festival, complete with a parade, dance, food, entertainment, art, bonsai galleries, children’s activities and so much more. One of MOBOT’s signature events, the Japanese Festival is intended to celebrate the history, culture and people of Japan.

23rd Annual Staenberg Group Gateway Cup
Again taking place in four of the city’s amazing urban neighborhoods, the 23rd Annual Staenberg Group Gateway Cup includes the Tour de Lafayette, the Tour de Francis Park, the Giro della Montagna and the Benton Park Classic. Besides seeing top-notch bicyclists ride and compete, people can sign up for the Ride to Unite, the Trailnet Fun Ride or the Benton Park 5k.
