St. Louis is always a fan favorite

There’s a reason ESPN Magazine named us the “Ultimate Sports City.”  Fans always have something to cheer about in St. Louis.

The 11-time World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals are perennial contenders as the most dedicated baseball fans in the country descend on Busch Stadium clad in red. The stadium offers the very best of baseball tradition with a great view from every seat, authentic ballpark dining and a wide variety of off-field activities for pre and post game entertainment. New for the 2014 season was the Ballpark Village entertainment district. Featuring dining, nightlife, entertainment and the Cardinals Hall of Fame & Museum the new district is located adjacent to Busch Stadium. The young and talented St. Louis Blues take to the ice at the Enterprise Center to do battle in the NHL’s Western Conference. Lead by captain Alex Pietrangelo and young stars like Vladimir Tarasenko and Jaden Schwartz there are sure to be many exciting years to come! Head to the Enterprise Center to watch your favorite players take the ice.

Other professional teams include the Gateway Grizzlies and the River City Rascals (Frontier League Baseball), Illinois Piasa (Professional Arena Soccer League), St. Louis Ambush (Major Arena Soccer League), St. Louis Slam (Women’s Football Alliance), St. Louis Surge (Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League) and Saint Louis FC (United Soccer League).

In addition to sports in the pro ranks, minor league and college teams are also a big hit in St. Louis. The Saint Louis University Billikens compete in the Atlantic 10 conference in a variety of men’s and women’s sports. The Men’s basketball team has become a regular in the NCAA Tournament. College basketball is at the top of the sports menu every March as well. The State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament comes to town at the Enterprise Center and the winner earns an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.

Spring sporting events include the Spirit of St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend, held in April. Runners of all abilities participate in a half-marathon, marathon relay, 5K run/walk, children’s fun runs and a health and fitness expo.
