Clayton
Lovingly referred to as the Manhattan of the Suburbs, Clayton has a skyline of gleaming high-rises, which might fool you into thinking that you’re on Fifth Avenue.
Blending a bustling business district with charming residential streets, the city attracts sophisticated guests, avid shoppers, food lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The best part? Most of the places that you’ll want to go are concentrated in a walkable area.
Along with the local boutiques, vibrant galleries, celebrated restaurants, bustling bars and recreational activities, you can also enjoy special events throughout the year. The Saint Louis Art Fair, for instance, attracts more than 150,000 people to Clayton every September, while Parties in the Park, St. Louis’ longest-running outdoor happy hour, features libations and live music on the second Wednesday of the month from May through September.
Beginning in the summer of 2025, Taste of St. Louis will relocate to Clayton, bringing tens of thousands of epicures and more than 40 restaurant booths with it.

Bistro La Floraison Dishes Out Refined French Fare
Unlike any other establishment in St. Louis, Bistro La Floraison transports guests to France, where the food and drinks are succulent, sophisticated and luxurious – and you’re expected to indulge. “It’s a chic, upscale, transportive French bistro experience that I feel helps to fill a void, which was created when Bar Les Frères closed,” Tara Gallina, co-owner of Take Root Hospitality, says. “Bistro La Floraison is an updated, more modern version of [that restaurant], but I think it’s still a place where you can experience wonderful French food, French wine and French cocktails in a fun, beautiful environment.”
