On April 10, 2006, the St. Louis Cardinals opened their new 46,000 seat retro-style downtown ballpark with a 6-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cardinals became the first team in almost 100 years to win a World Series Championship in the inaugural season of a new ballpark. In July 2009, Busch Stadium hosted the 80th MLB All-Star Game.
Busch Stadium consists of three main seating decks: main, loge, and terrace. All of the concourses are open, allowing fans views of the field while getting concessions. Bleachers are located in both left and right field and the main scoreboard is located above the seating area in right-centerfield. An out of town scoreboard is on the right side of the main scoreboard and the home and visiting team’s bullpens are in left and right centerfield. Busch Stadium features a number of party suites and public gathering areas including: Homers Landing; Coca-Cola Rooftop Deck; Coca-Cola Scoreboard Patio; Powerade Bridge; Musial Bridge; and Ford Plaza.

Located on the campus of Saint Louis University (SLU), Chaifetz Arena is a multipurpose facility that is home to SLU men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, and myriad other events. There are 10,600 seats in a single concourse, and the venue has 14 suites, two additional party suites, and a large club for dinners and private parties.
The Arena complex also includes a two-court basketball-volleyball practice facility, where the volleyball team plays its games, and a three-story office and support building for the athletic department. It includes new locker rooms for all Division I athletic teams. Chaifetz Arena also contains a new strength and conditioning area and a state-of-the art sports medicine facility.
Chaifetz Arena is privately managed by Global Spectrum. Global Spectrum is the fastest growing firm in the public assembly facility management field with more than 70 facilities throughout the United States and Canada. The Philadelphia-based company is part of Comcast-Spectacor, one of the world’s largest sports and entertainment companies.
The venue is named in honor of SLU alumnus Dr. Richard A. Chaifetz (SHAY-fetz) who made a $12 million naming gift to Saint Louis University. Chaifetz is a 1975 graduate of SLU and is a licensed neuropsychologist and the founder, chairman and CEO of Chicago-based ComPsych Corporation. Chaifetz is one of the world’s most frequently quoted experts on behavioral health, workplace issues and employer and employee trends.
Saint Louis University is a Jesuit, Catholic university ranked among the top research institutions in the nation. The university fosters the intellectual and character development of more than 12,000 students on campuses in St. Louis and Madrid, Spain. Founded in 1818, it is the oldest university west of the Mississippi and the second oldest Jesuit university in the United States. Through teaching, research, health care and community service, Saint Louis University is the place where knowledge touches lives.
The Dome at America’s Center
The Dome at America’s Center opened on November 12, 1995 in the heart of downtown St. Louis. The Dome is a part of the America’s Center® complex, which allows it to be utilized in a stand alone configuration or directly connected with convention center exhibit halls. In its short history, The Dome has hosted the Big 12 Conference Football Championship, NCAA Men’s Basketball Regionals, the Gateway Football Classic, U2, the Rolling Stones, and the pastoral visit of Pope John Paul II. The Dome also hosts several annual state high school football games and motorsports events. In 2005, the facility hosted the NCAA Men’s Final Four basketball championship that attracted 54,000 fans to St. Louis and created an economic impact of $71.9 million.
Fixed solid opaque roof permits darkened capability with no air-lock problems. Beneath the roof, the Dome features a sealed concrete 104,800 square foot floor with bleachers extended and utility grids on 30 foot centers. The concrete floor, along with a variety of artificial playing surfaces, allows for a variety of events including football and basketball games, entertainment events and conventions.
The Dome at America’s Center provides multiple stadium configurations that can seat up to 67,000 people. Seating levels include: a private luxury suite level, a private club seat and luxury suite level, a concourse level (lower bowl) and terrace level (upper bowl). Chairs may also be placed on the floor for entertainment and basketball events. The floor of the Dome seats up to 13,000 theater-style and up to 10,500 for banquets. An additional 13 meeting rooms can accommodate from 50 to 1,000 people.
Incentive design features allow the Dome floor to be transformed easily from convention exhibition space to football field to concert venue. The first 14 rows of permanent seats are retractable as they fold back to provide a smooth wall appearance when the exhibit hall floor is being used for exhibits or meetings. A full section of seats is removable allowing exhibits to flow freely from America’s Center’s five exhibition halls directly into Hall 6, the Dome floor. Connecting all six halls creates 502,000 square feet of contiguous prime exhibit space.
Locker Rooms/Dressing Rooms
The Dome has several fully carpeted locker and dressing rooms. Each is equipped with restroom and shower facilities.
The Dome at America’s Center box office is fully computerized. Tickets for Dome events can be purchased at locations throughout St. Louis and the Midwest and by phone.
The Dome’s main press box provides 150 working positions. Also available are nine broadcast booths and an ancillary press box for up to 100 additional positions.
A metal halide lighting system provides up to 300 foot candle illumination at floor level. In most domed facilities, lights are permanently fixed at stadium event height and cannot be lowered to levels preferred for exhibits and trade shows. In the The Dome, the grids can be set at 55 feet to provide the best lighting for exhibit hall events or as low as three feet to make attaching decorative banners or changing light bulbs simple. For sports events, the lights are set at the full 140 foot height. The Dome’s opaque hard ceiling prevents daylight and outside noise from interfering with sophisticated production needs of major events.
Suites and Club Seats
The Dome has 120 suites on two levels, offering 2,710 seats. A 43,000 square foot club level (largest in the country) offers 6,300 extra-wide seats.
America’s Center Catering manages all catering and restaurant services in The Dome and The Club. Sports Service manages concession and novelty sales in The Dome.
St. Louis Lambert International Airport is only 13 miles from The Dome. St. Louis is within a day’s drive of one-third of the U.S. population, and four interstate highways converge at St. Louis (I-44, I-55, I-64 and I-70). The MetroLink light rail system services The Dome with a station just two blocks away. More than 30,000 parking spaces are available within a 10-minute walk of The Dome, and parking for up to 100 buses is available nearby.

Located in the heart of downtown St. Louis, Enterprise Center is a contemporary 12-story glass and concrete structure that’s considered one of the finest sports and entertainment complexes in the country. It features state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and an unprecedented commitment to quality and service. Home to the NHL’s St. Louis Blues, the venue officially opened on Saturday, October 8, 1994.
In addition to Blues hockey, Enterprise Center features a full range of arena programming, including concerts, ice shows, family shows and other sporting events. The arena plays host to approximately 175 events per year, bringing nearly two million guests to downtown St. Louis annually and ranking it among the top arenas in the country.
The 664,000 square foot Enterprise Center seats 19,150 for hockey and nearly 22,000 for basketball, concerts and other floor-seating events.
Parking is plentiful in the area surrounding Enterprise Center. There are more than 6,000 parking spaces within 1,800 feet (or approximately four blocks) of the venue. A 1,240-car parking garage directly adjoins Enterprise Center. Owned and operated by the City of St. Louis, it provides convenient, weather-protected access to the building.
Enterprise Center enjoys easy access to all four of the region’s interstate highways, I-64 (U.S. 40), I-44, I-55 and I-70. Multiple alternative routes to Enterprise Center make entering and exiting the facility easy.
The venue is well served by mass transit, including the Metro bus system and MetroLink, St. Louis’ light rail system. A MetroLink station is located immediately adjacent to the venue at the corner of 14th Street and Clark Avenue. The main entrance to Enterprise Center is at the corner of 14th Street and Clark Avenue, with two auxiliary entrances located on Clark Avenue adjacent to the attached garage and on 14th Street.
Enterprise Center features nearly 40 concession stands and portable carts throughout the plaza and mezzanine levels. In addition to traditional fare such as hot dogs, nachos, peanuts and pretzels, concession stands offer specialty foods such as toasted ravioli, Pizza Hut pizza, chicken wings, hamburgers, barbecue sandwiches, chicken fingers, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, assorted candies and ice cream and much more.
The Top Shelf, located on the mezzanine concourse between sections 326 and 331, is a combination food court and sports bar that opens into the seating area. A wide variety of microbrews and food, including Nathan’s hot dogs of New York, allows fans to enjoy the atmosphere of a bar without missing all the live action.
14th and Clark, a two-level bar and restaurant located off the Atrium at the corner of Clark Avenue and 14th Street, is open to all ticketholders. With seating for 150 and total capacity of nearly 300, this dramatic two-story bar and restaurant offers a full range of refreshments including a wide variety of beers and microbrews, as well as carved sandwiches, soups, salads and appetizers.
Enterprise Center also features The Bud Light Zone, a private 500-seat restaurant for suite holders, club seat holders and club members. The Bud Light Zone offers an elaborate chef’s table buffet as well as a wide range of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts.
Enterprise Center features an equal number of men’s and women’s rooms, including family restrooms located on the Plaza and Mezzanine concourses.
An eight-sided, center-hung scoreboard features four 9’ x 12’ video screens for pre-game interviews, game telecasts, instant replay, intermission highlights and special segments and features, as well as four electronic message boards for complete statistical information.
The interior of Enterprise Center includes bright and spacious concourses highlighted by fully finished floors and walls, high ceilings, and generous use of glass. It also features fully upholstered, theatre-style seats with attached drink holders. Seats range from 19” – 21″ wide.
Enterprise Center offers outstanding merchandising and retail opportunities, with a flagship BlueNote Authentics Shop in the main lobby and additional merchandising stands located throughout the building.
Premium seating at the arena includes 91 suites, seven party rooms and 1,726 club seats.
In June of 2006, Dave Checketts and Sports Capital Partners were officially introduced as the new owners of the St. Louis Blues and Enterprise Center. Enterprise Center is owned by the City of St. Louis and privately operated by Sports Capital Partners under a long-term lease agreement with the City.
Development and construction cost for Enterprise Center was $135 million. The City of St. Louis funded an additional $34.5 for demolition of the existing auditorium and garage, site preparation and construction of the adjacent parking facility which is owned and operated by the City.
