Third Degree Glass Factory presents Lines: An Exhibition by Mario Clarke July 7 - August 28!

The latest exhibition at Third Degree Glass features dozens of intricate pieces by Mario Clarke, a glass artist based in Springfield, Illinois.

Raised in nearby Mt. Olive, Mario Clarke began working with glass while studying at Illinois State University under American Studio Glass Movement artist John Miller. After earning a degree in graphic design, Mario continued his glass education through advanced study before becoming the Glass Studio Manager and Technician at the Springfield Art Association.

Drawing from principles of line, balance, and composition, Mario creates works that exist between functional objects and sculpture. The flowing lines within his vessels twist, intersect, and diverge, reflecting the paths, relationships, and unexpected connections that shape our lives. Through intricate craftsmanship and layered patterns, he seeks to create work that rewards close observation and sparks a sense of joy, curiosity, and reflection.
