This Roman Catholic Church, a major landmark in the city of St. Louis, is open to visitors daily. Masses are at 7 a.m., 8 a.m. and 12:05 p.m., Mon.-Fri.; 8 a.m, 10 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. on Sun. Byzantine-style interior with one of the world's largest collection of mosaic art: 83,000 sq. ft. Tours Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

This basilica has the largest collection of mosaics under one roof in the world. There is a very good museum on the lower level showing the creation of the mosaics and explaining the difference...

Who would of thought such a magnificent Cathedral could be found in Downtown St Louis . We were on a Trolley ride which stopped at this stunning Basilica such a joy to walk through this Cathedral...

I am not Catholic but I was moved by the sheer enormity and beauty of this massive edifice. To think that this marvel was built without the benefit of modern machinery is absolutely incredible.
