A stunning landmark in the Central West End, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis is open to visitors daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Roman Catholic Church holds mass Monday through Friday at 7 a.m., 8 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Giving deeper insight into the dazzling collection of mosaics, tours are also available Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. If you decide to take a self-guided tour, don’t miss the Mosaic Museum in the basement, which details the creation of this distinguished work of art.

It is hard to miss this very grand church, the biggest in the city. All sorts of events are held here from simple services to weddings and celebrations. Very ornate and decorative.
