A new center for the arts in Grand Center was established in 2006. Through the leadership gift of the Centene Charitable Foundation, today the Centene Center for Arts and Education provides state-of-the-art offices and technology to 18 arts organizations.

Chaifetz Arena is a 10,600-seat, multi-purpose venue on the Saint Louis University campus. Chaifetz Arena hosts concerts ranging from Carrie Underwood to Bob Dylan, family shows including Cirque du Soleil and Disney on Ice, conventions, graduations, and other community events. The Fabulous Fox is a magnificently restored 1929 movie palace in the heart of St. Louis’ Grand Center Arts District. The Fox is the premier live entertainment venue in St. Louis and presents the best of Broadway, concerts, family shows, dance and more.

Grand Center is the major arts and entertainment district in the St. Louis region and is home to more than 30 arts organizations. With 12,000 theater seats and 12 museums and galleries within four blocks, the district hosts more than 1,500 cultural events each year and welcomes over 1.5 million visitors annually.

The Grandel Theatre opened its doors in 1992 and today is home to the award-winning Black Repertory Company as well as St. Louis Shakespeare, and has hosted several national acts, such as “Late Night Catechism” and “Triple Espresso.
