Find clues. Solve puzzles. Traverse worlds. Adventures of Intrigue, a new open-concept escape room in St. Louis, offers otherworldly entertainment without a time limit!

An attraction unlike any other in the Midwest, Adventures of Intrigue boasts 12 quests and counting, giving visitors a slew of reasons to come back again and again. The immersive, story-driven experience begins with the turn of a page, igniting your curiosity and activating your ingenuity.

“In our magical library, the books have come to life and the stories have blended together,” head librarian Addison Lewis explains. “Entering Adventures of Intrigue, you truly step into a different world. Everyone who works here is a member of the library staff, and our job is to guide you on your journey without breaking character.

“I’m Jack, the head librarian, which means I’m trying my best to keep order,” he continues. “Working in a magical library, where items constantly change and move, is chaotic. The cast of characters that work for me try to help, but they usually make things worse, so I need all the help I can get from the problem solvers who walk through our doors.”

Playing with 9,500 square feet of space, the library staff decided to include elements of a scavenger hunt into every adventure so that you can explore different themed areas, from a medieval castle to a haunted graveyard and an enchanted forest to a mummy’s tomb. “We don’t lock you in a room or give you a time limit,” Lewis says, “because Adventures of Intrigue isn’t about winning; it’s about discovering.”

Imagine a king hiring you to find his queen, sparking an adventure in Lionheart Village where you can shop for brooms, potions and familiars, marvel at steampunk-inspired gizmos and gadgets and have a seat in the fortune teller’s wagon. “She’s really good at telling you what happened yesterday,” Lewis says with a smile.

During your next visit, you might be tasked with uncovering the murderer of oil magnet Doug Nazario, aiding a shipwrecked pirate who hopes to get safely off a deserted island or locating a missing train car in 1955.

Owners Jim and Susan Seubert, who ran a home haunt in Edwardsville, Illinois, for years, used their extensive collection of whimsical, peculiar and uncanny props to decorate Adventures of Intrigue. “Susan’s superpower is finding cool décor to fill the space,” Lewis says, “and since people aren’t timed, they can stop to appreciate their surroundings.”

Adventures of Intrigue is suitable for kids from four to 94, and it’s accessible and sensory-inclusive. Rain or shine, this is a challenging yet fun experience for families, friends and coworkers. Book your adventure today!
