Downtown St. Louis Restaurant Week returns from Nov. 16 to 22 with specials at participating establishments.
Spanning cuisines and cultures, the area’s restaurants and bars satisfy any craving. Local favorites such as Amaizing Arepa Bar, Aubergine Café, Idol Wolf, Kimchi Guys and Salt + Smoke showcase the variety and creativity that make St. Louis a great dining destination.
“Any chance to show love for downtown restaurants is major,” chef Mike Johnson, founder and owner of Sugarfire Hospitality, says. “We’ve been here for almost a decade, and it’s a hustle and a grind, but it’s awesome to be part of people’s food memories of St. Louis. From convention attendees to multigenerational travelers to residents from St. Louis County coming to downtown for a ballgame, it’s a privilege to serve the crowds that filter through the neighborhood.”
Sugarfire Smoke House on Washington Avenue is a downtown staple that’s hard to resist. “We smoke our barbecue right there on the city block,” Johnson explains. “A few doors down, Hi-Pointe Drive-In is home to the city’s best smash burger. So, it’s a win-win!”
Ready to dig in? Here’s a taste of what’s on the menu during Downtown St. Louis Restaurant Week.
Quick Bites: At its Washington Avenue location, Coffeestamp will take 20 percent off empanadas stuffed with everything from cherry wood-smoked ham to marinated steak and barbecue chicken. Vegetarian or vegan? Try the Baleada (red baked beans, scrambled eggs and fried sweet plantains topped with cream and Cotija) or the Three Sisters (corn, beans and squash in garden sauce).
Family Outings: Make it a family affair at Hi-Pointe Drive-In, where two single cheeseburgers, two orders of fries and two soft drinks are just $20. Meanwhile, at Rosalita’s Cantina, diners can enjoy 20 percent off their order by mentioning Downtown Restaurant Week.
Date Nights: Morton’s The Steakhouse has crafted a three-course prix-fixe menu for $60 per person, while Union 30’s set menu is $48 per person. Prefer to share a few appetizers? The Clydesdale, The Pitch and Robie’s on 8th are all offering 20 percent off appetizers – think smoked trout dip, elote deviled eggs and garlic-cheese bites. Whatever the occasion, there’s a deal to match.
Celebratory Drinks: Raise a glass to downtown at 360 St. Louis, Blood & Sand, Buddy’s Wine Bar & Bistro, Maggie O'Brien’s, The Moniker, Thaxton Speakeasy and Tin Roof, all of which are featuring drink specials during the week.
“It’s an honor to participate in Downtown St. Louis Restaurant Week alongside all the talented restaurateurs who support the city,” Kimberly Pitliangas, owner of Thaxton Speakeasy, says. “We’re offering $10 Champagne cocktails – plus, a special bourbon cocktail.
