Employing warm hospitality, genuine enthusiasm and intimate knowledge, Parker’s Table offers wine, beer, spirits and foodstuffs for every budget in Richmond Heights. Both residents and visitors of St. Louis can also snag housemade sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday for lunch on the go.

“Parker’s Table has the feel of a general store, where human connection is the key to happiness,” owner Jonathan Parker says. “We’re always available to help customers, but we never force products on them. We want people to enjoy what they buy and come back for more. That said, everyone who works in the shop has different passions, and if they have your ear, they’re going to tell you about their favorite beer or bourbon, cheese or chocolate. In a way, it’s a nostalgic experience, but it’s just how we take care of people.”

Parker grew up on a farm, cooking with his mother and grandmother. He still loves feeding people, and Parker’s Table allows him to host a daily show-and-tell, as he puts it. “I love finding new products and helping customers understand how to use them – teaching myself a thing or two along the way,” he says. “Years ago, for example, I had an epiphany about pasta. Pasta wasn’t a staple in our home, and I always imagined it as soft, flavorless dough; however, when I started digging into old-world pastas, my perspective changed.”

Today, Parker’s Table has an entire aisle dedicated to artisan pastas – think organic durum wheat orecchiette, black and white linguine and tagliatelle all’uovo – but that’s only the first course!

Founded as a small wine shop in 1995, Parker’s Table has grown to include specialty foods, blending global goods with local flavors. For a special occasion like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day or Thanksgiving, it’s the perfect place to build a delicious gift basket.

Start with Billecart-Salmon Champagne and a few bottles of wine – Parker’s Table stocks varieties from every corner of the world. Then, throw in Rogue River Blue cheese, roasted nuts, Askinosie chocolate and anything else that strikes your fancy. Parker’s Table even bakes its own cookies for a sweet touch!

High-quality ingredients also define the sandwiches at Parker’s Table – think The Beddu Muffaletta stacked with soppressata siciliano, prosciutto di cotto, calabrese, provolone, mustard and olive salad.

“The roots of our sandwiches come from the original menu at Salume Beddu, which crafts what Forbes called the best salami in the country,” Parker explains. “When [chef Steven Caravelli] joined the Parker’s Table team, we expanded our selection to include house-smoked pastrami, turkey and brisket – some things that they didn’t do at Salume Beddu. Now, I would say the smoked turkey with Gruyère, aïoli and greens is the most popular sandwich, but the roasted veggie with mozzarella, eggplant and balsamic-roasted red pepper is really good, as well.”

All sandwiches come with chips and a drink, and your group can share The Parker’s Salad featuring lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, red pepper, olives, artichokes and Asiago tossed with oil and vinegar as a second side.

Savor your sandwich of choice at on-site tables, or experience a feast for your eyes and stomach in nearby Forest Park.

In addition to the store, Parker’s Table has an event space that accommodates 50 seated or 100 standing for business meetings, birthday parties, rehearsal dinners and more – all catered by the shop.

“We have a catering menu for events,” Parker says, “but we can color outside the lines to make sure that we’re taking care of guests.”

In the coming months, Parker also plans to open The Yale Bar in a former barbershop next door to Parker’s Table. “The Yale Bar will be a great space for residents and visitors alike,” he says. “People can grab a quick bite, while trying new products at Parker’s Table.”
