ST. LOUIS: Explore St. Louis is thrilled to announce that St. Louis has been selected as one of the future host cities for the prestigious ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition. The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) made the official announcement on Sunday, August 11, during the 2024 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition in Cleveland.

The ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition is the largest annual educational and networking conference for association executives in the world. Often referred to as the “Super Bowl of Meetings,” the event brings more than 52,000 individual members and more than 1,800 organizational members from around the world together. Host cities are selected for the conference based on convention center facilities, hotel packages and venue options for evening events. Other factors include the geographic location; the commitment of the host city to deliver new experiences for ASAE attendees; and the support of local city officials and hospitality industry leaders, as well as the city’s relationship with ASAE.

“Congratulations to the cities selected to host the next 10 ASAE Annual Meetings & Expositions,” said ASAE president and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “We are excited to partner with these cities to deliver exceptional experiences for ASAE attendees and showcase each city’s unique brand of hospitality. The ASAE Annual Meeting serves as a cornerstone for the association community to connect, share insights and shape the future of the profession. Our Annual Meeting host cities are critical partners to our success.”

“We are incredibly excited to welcome ASAE to St. Louis in 2032,” said Explore St. Louis president Kathleen (Kitty) Ratcliffe. “A lot of great cities vied for this opportunity, but our proposal spoke directly to the needs and the priorities of ASAE. We also have a proven track record as a host city. The last time we hosted ASAE was in 2011, and we’re delighted that association leaders from around the world will have an opportunity to experience the abundance of new tourism and convention assets that have been introduced since they last met in STL. We look forward to providing an unforgettable experience for ASAE attendees and demonstrating why St. Louis is an ideal location for associations to host their meetings and events, and are thankful to Michelle Mason and the ASAE team for the opportunity.”

The economic impact of the ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition is significant, with an average immediate economic impact between $15 and $18 million over four days. The prospective downstream economic impact is also notable, as host cities can expect 20 percent of ASAE decision-makers in attendance to book future business in the city within five years.
