The Westin St. Louis completes $11 million renovation

Downtown hotel in historic Cupples Station adds new club lounge and new restaurant concept

ST. LOUIS (May 28, 2019) – The Westin St. Louis, located in the heart of downtown St. Louis, completed an $11 million renovation of the 18-year-old hotel.

All of the property’s 255 oversized, modern loft-style rooms and suites were completely renovated to include new furniture, lighting, bathroom fixtures, paint, carpet and soft goods. The lobby underwent major changes including a new 1,800-square-foot Westin Executive Club Lounge and the expansion and rebranding of the hotel’s restaurant space. Additionally, all of the hotel’s meeting space is being fully renovated and will be complete by the end of May.

The new restaurant, Quattro Trattoria + Pizzeria, is a 140-seat restaurant serving modern and fresh Italian dishes in the shadow of Busch Stadium. As part of the improvements, Quattro Trattoria + Pizza features a new entrance located at 8th Street and Clark Avenue – allowing direct access into the restaurant and new 30-seat bar, which has direct views of the stadium and comes complete with phone charging stations.

Guests with access to the Westin Executive Club Lounge can enjoy complimentary continental breakfast in the morning and light snacks and beverages throughout the day.

For guests looking to maintain and elevate their wellness routines on the road, the hotel has incorporated the Westin brand’s iconic RunWestin programming, which offers guests access to on-property run concierges who regularly lead groups on running tours in and around downtown St. Louis. Guests also can benefit from the brand’s Gear Lending program and borrow top of the line New Balance workout attire for only $5 per day – freeing up valuable luggage space.

“We listened to our guests and made the upgrades today’s travelers want to experience,” said Lance Misner, general manager of The Westin St. Louis. “The St. Louis market is highly competitive, and it’s crucial for our hotel to stay fresh and updated to provide a premier experience for our guests. I’m confident guests will be delighted by the changes we’ve made while continuing to enjoy our personalized service Westin is known for.”

The new space was designed by Chicago-based Whitespace Interiors, and St. Louis-based BSI Constructors completed the five-month renovation. The hotel, operated by HEI Hotels & Resorts, remained open during construction.

“This is the first major renovation of The Westin St. Louis since it opened in 2001.  After we acquired the hotel in 2017, our goal was to fully update and enhance all areas of the property to continue to meet or exceed our guests’ expectations,” said Patrick Lowery, principal and co-founder, Lennox Capital Partners, the owner of the hotel. “We are excited for the future of downtown St. Louis, and we look forward to providing a first-class experience for our visitors and guests.”
