MetroLink and MetroBus

Metro Transit is a world-class transportation system. Metro’s light-rail network MetroLink has been called one of the best mass transit systems in the country.  The rail system offers multiple lines and stops through St. Louis County and City and the Metro East, stopping at or near many of St. Louis attractions. Beginning at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, MetroLink stretches 48 miles through Missouri and Illinois and includes stops at 37 stations. Trains usually run every seven minutes during peak hours, and every 10 minutes throughout the rest of the day, and every 15 minutes or so on weeknights.

MetroBus, operates over 70 routes in Missouri and Illinois designed to help you reach the places you want to go. To plan your trip, you can use their online Trip Planner, Google Transit or download the Metro On The Go app (available on the App Store and Google Play) and plan your trip from your mobile device.

Taxis and Car Rentals

Taxi stands are located at most downtown hotels. The fare from the airport to downtown St. Louis is around $45, with airport shuttles charging $15 one way, $25 for round trip. Various limousine and car services are available as well, including Uber and Lyft.

Parking

Visitors who chose to drive their own vehicles will find no shortage of parking in downtown St. Louis. 46,000 spaces are available in garages and on surface lots throughout downtown. Additionally, 2,700 smart metered curbside parking spaces are available on the streets. Visitors can find convenient preferred parking with GetAroundSTL.com or by looking for signs with a white “P” in a blue circle. Preferred parking providers have uniform credit card payment options, security, accessible spots, identifiable signage, and wayfinding to make parking safe, affordable, and convenient.  

Amtrak

Amtrak is located in the St. Louis Gateway Transportation Center. The downtown facility serves inter-city bus carriers and offers direct access to the MetroLink light rail and the local bus network.
