Built as the Fine Arts Palace of the 1904 Worlds Fair and one of the nation's leading comprehensive art museums. Collections include works of art from virtually every culture and time period. Areas of notable depth include Oceanic art, pre-Columbian art, ancient Chinese bronzes and European and American art of the late 19th century and 20th century, with particular strength in German painting. Free admission to exhibitions on Fridays and programs diesgned for all ages and interests. Tue. - Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Fri., 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.; FREE.

We're huge fans of the art museum, but we took our young kids there and they loved it! Especially the Egyptian exhibit! Great collection and well displayed.

We brought our 5 teenagers here for an unscheduled stop after we exhausted the science museum. Everyone really enjoyed seeing the art and there were pieces by many famous artists. It wasn't crowded...
