Set in the rolling hills, lakes and glades of Forest Park, the Saint Louis Zoo is always a great place to be. The Zoo is open year-round, except on December 25 and January 1. Check website for hours. So Many Animals!

This is one of the nicest Zoos in the US. It will take you 4-5 hours minimum even without kids. There's other things to do too like a 4D theater. Great location in the park as well!

Hours

Daily, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. except for holiday hours 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Closed Christmas and New Year's Day. Check website for summer hours.
