Actor and St. Louis native John Goodman brings Hollywood sheen to highlight local chefs

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis, named America’s Next Great Food City by Food & Wine, is an electrifying culinary destination, brimming with world-class restaurants and globally inspired flavors. It’s one thing to say it, but Explore St. Louis believed it would be even better to show it.

To celebrate its impressive quality, expansive diversity and unique breadth, Explore St. Louis has produced a brand new film, The Flavor of St. Louis, in partnership with MacGillivray Freeman.

Narrated by St. Louis native and Emmy Award winner John Goodman, the 30-minute film brings documentary storytelling to the table, giving a voice to the city’s chefs. Viewers head into the kitchen with some of St. Louis’ James Beard nominees including one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs, chef Nick Bognar of Indo and Sado. Along with Michael and Tara Gallina of Take Root Hospitality and Simone Faure of La Pâtisserie Chouquette, these chefs make one thing clear: diversity and personality flavor everything in St. Louis.

The film was accepted into the prestigious St. Louis International Film Festival and is available to stream on Explore St. Louis’ website. The site features a deeper dive into each person’s story including recipes. It’s inspirational to hear their stories and to see their creative dishes, and all that’s left is for visitors to taste them firsthand on a trip to St. Louis.

In addition to being available online, The Flavor of St. Louis will be distributed via GoUSA to the domestic and international markets and it will be available through OTT platforms such as Roku.

We are able to connect you directly with the chefs featured in this film for interviews and photo or video opportunities.
