5 Things to Do in St. Louis this Weekend 8/22 – 8/24

Happy Friday, everyone! Here are five things you’ll want to make sure you do in St. Louis this weekend.

Festival of Nations 1Festival of the Nations – August 23 – 24
Take a trip around the world in the comfort of Tower Grove Park, where you will find a fair full of multi-ethnic dance, music, food, cultural and educational exhibits, folk art demonstrations and a craft market. The event will be located near S. Grand and Arsenal, and a free shuttle service will be accessible throughout the park.

2nd Annual Cycle Showcase STL – August 24
ain a whole new perspective on the motorcycling world at the 2nd annual Cycle Showcase in St. Louis. The 6100 block of Delmar Boulevard will become home to the event, with The Pageant hosting the main showcase. Between 30 and 40 historic, handmade works of two-wheeled art will be on display, along with a wide variety of motorcycles to celebrate the beauty in their design and engineering. Last year’s wildly popular American Motor Drome “Wall of Death” thrill show will be returning for another year, where bikers will defy gravity as they ride vintage motorcycles up and around the inside walls of a 30-foot tall barrel. It is $12 to attend the showcase at the Pageant, which also provides admission to the “Wall of Death” thrill show. Other businesses will be putting on their own motorcycle-themed promotions, and St. Louis Regional Arts Commission will be hosting a free art exhibit that highlights the motorcycle community from the artists’ points of view. A part of the funds raised from the Showcase will be given to Always Brothers, a non-profit that provides financial support to families of fallen heroes.

Jason AldeanJason Aldean – August 22
Country rocker Jason Aldean presents his nation-wide “Burn It Down” tour at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Fans can expect to hear chart-topping hits like “Night Train,” as well as hits by country-rock group Florida Georgia Line and Missouri native, Tyler Farr.

St. Louis Street Car Super Nationals – August 20 – 23rd
This one of a kind event brings racers from all across the US and Canada to race for some of the largest cash prizes in the sport. You will see champions past & present from the ADRL, IHRA, NSCA, NHRA, PSCA, Orlando and many others at this race.

Family Fun at Ballpark Village – August 24
Join Ballpark Village as it closes down Clark Street for its monthly Family Fun Day which includes a variety of activities for children of all ages. The activities are both informative and interactive, including live music, inflatables, face painting, an Upper Limits rock climbing wall and more. Admission is free, but some activities will require a $1 ticket to benefit Stray Rescue Rescue of St. Loui
